So far this year we have been working on a unit focusing around the theme of bullying. Students have been working in class on various assignments and activities. They have compete a character sketch assignment on the short story "Priscilla and the Wimps" along with various daily activities discussing the ways to handle bullying, consequences of bullying and the definition of bullying.

Now we are writing a formal business letter to the Principal discussing the forms of bullying seen most often at our school and possible solutions.

All work so far this year has been worked on and completed in class. There will be work to be completed at home as the term progresses.
October 08th, 2013
Students were assigned their text book and we began work on the Global Citizen Unit.

Students finished worksheet above and we discussed the answers.

Silent reading class.
Students are to have a novel read and the independent novel assignment completed by NOV. 4th.

Review: We reviewed today. Students should focus on the types of connections that can be made to the text. ie: text-to-text, text-to-self, text-to-world.
